Tim Howard, the American star of the 2014 World Cup, has a new way to spend time when he’s not being one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He has signed a multi-year deal with NBC Sports to join the Premier League broadcast.

The network announced that the 35-year-old will join the broadcast team for 10 games during the 2014-2015 campaign. When he’s not in the booth or in the NBC Sports studio, he will still be the goalkeeper for Everton.

Howard, who worked on seven Premier League broadcasts during last season, became the face of the U.S. national team during the World Cup. He broke the record for most saves in a single World Cup match during the U.S.’ 2-1 loss to Belgium in the Round of 16. His amazing performance earned him the nickname “Secretary of Defense.”

“Tim had an impressive debut on our telecasts last season and we are excited to have him join our Premier League team on a more extensive basis,” Pierre Moossa, coordinating producer of NBC Sports Group’s Premier League coverage, said in a statement. “As an active Premier League player, he contributes unique perspective and insight to our broadcasts.”

Howard tweeted his excitement, but noted that he will still be playing. “I am excited & honored to re-join the NBC Premier League broadcast team (on my off days, don't worry!)," he wrote. "Hope you all will be tuning in!”
