Adam Richman, former host of Man v. Food, has been under hot water for his recent rant on Instagram this past week. In fact, the Travel Channel has decided to postpone his upcoming show, Man Finds Food, altogether because of the insensitive comments that were made on the social media site.
The television host made headlines just last month after he uploaded a picture of himself almost nude as a result of dropping over 70 pounds this past year with the hashtag, “Thinspiration.” The hashtag drew in a lot of backlash because of its popularity among pro anorexia websites that encourage people to lose weight unhealthily and that promoted eating disorders, according to TIME.
In response to the large amount of negative comments, Richman had heated debates with the critics, at one point even telling one of the commenters to “grab a razor blade and draw a bath,” which ultimately caused an uproar of negative attention. Since then, the host has made his instagram private and deleted related tweets, but sent out an apology for his behavior.
"I want to apologize for my inexcusable remarks. My behavior was unbecoming and unacceptable,” he said in a statement obtained by E! News. “I've long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight. Instead of responding to comments with compassion, I lashed out in anger.” Richman also revealed his struggles with his body image. There has been no word in regard to the show that was supposed to have aired July 2.
In response to the entire ordeal however, here is a top 10 list of twitter reactions to the Adam Richman/Travel Channel controversy.
