In the United States World Cup game versus Belgium, Tim Howard set the record for the most saves in a World Cup game since FIFA started keeping the record in 1966, according to the BBC.

He set the record with 16 saves according to according to ESPN FC.

Howard was the best player in many of the United States games during the World Cup, making unbelievable save after unbelievable save.

In what may be his last World Cup as the starting goalie for the United States, Howard saved 29 shots while only letting up only six goals in four games, according to ESPN FC.

If he does not make the US National team in 2018 the US will be missing a big presence on the field that will be hard to regain.
