It has been reported that Edwin Encarnacion suffered a right quadriceps strain on July 5. He was supposed to come back sooner, however he will not be back until August.

Encarnacion was swinging a baseball bat when he re-aggravated his injury, proven by NBC Sports.

The Blue Jays have not been doing well as a team since the slugger has been out of action. Toronto’s overall record is eight wins and eight losses during his absence from the lineup. That is only a .500 record.

His bat not being around on an everyday basis has made the team suffer. In just 88 games this season, he has produced 26 home runs and 70 runs batted in, according to ESPN.

The Blue Jays need Encarnacion back as soon as possible so they can stay competitive during the MLB season that goes until the end of September and early October. The American League East has been inconsistent all year long so Toronto can still make a push.
