HBO's Sunday night shows True Blood and The Leftovers are performing quite strongly, managing to improve to near premiere-levels.

First up, the latest episode of the final season of True Blood averaged 3.6 million viewers, just shy of the 4 million viewers the vampire drama premiered to, TheWrap reports. When encores are included, the show pulled in 4.4 million for the night.

Across all platforms - HBO Go, VOD and repeats, the seventh season is doing quite well each week. True Blood is averaging 10 million viewers over the course of a week.

Cumulatively, The Leftovers isn't too far behind, it just lags in Sunday night viewing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest episode drew 1.6 million viewers, which is the drama's best since the premiere.

Spread across a whole week though, the number manages to balloon to more than 8 million viewers, which is impressive for the freshman drama.

Even Last Week Tonight with John Oliver did well on the night, averaging 922,000 viewers for the initial telecast and 1.1 million total for the night.
