Two University of Miami football players have been dismissed from the team after they were arrested on Tuesday for an alleged on-campus sexual assault last Saturday.

According to CBS Miami, an arrest affidavit states that Alex Figueroa and Jawand Blue gave the 17-year-old victim “a narcotic, anesthetic, or other intoxicating substance that mentally or physically incapacitated” her.

The affidavit goes on to say that the athlete’s then allegedly took advantage of the helpless teenager.

She reported the alleged incident to campus police who contacted Coral Gables authorities.

UM’s athletic director Blake James said that both linebackers have been kicked off the team and are banned from using the Hurricanes’ facilities. They have been suspended from the university as well.

"Earlier today, I permanently dismissed Jawand Blue and Alexander Figueroa from the UM football team," James said. “Any allegation of a sexual assault is extremely serious, and the University will not tolerate conduct that threatens the sanctity and safety of our students and our campus. We hold all of our students -- especially the student athletes -- to the highest standards of a moral conduct.”

Blue recorded one tackle for the Hurricane’s last season and Figueroa registered one sack, Sports-Reference.com noted.
