Carter will earn $12.2 million over three years with the Grizzlies. Last season he played for the Dallas Mavericks, and they seemed hopeful Carter was going to stay with the franchise. All though Dallas felt that way, Carter decided to take his veteran experience to anther ball club.

Carter tried to receive an $8 million deal with the Mavericks over a two-year period, notes
ESPN. However, the Mavericks could not afford to pay Carter that amount of money because of restricted free agent Chandler Parsons.

The man they call Air Canada has played for the Toronto Raptors, the New Jersey Nets, the Orlando Magic, the Phoenix Suns, and the Dallas Mavericks. He is expected to be a key contributor to the Grizzlies next season as a role player.

Last season as a player in Dallas, he averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, according to NBA.com.
