One of the break out stars of this year’s World Cup, and winner of the Golden Boot for most goals scored during the tournament, Colombian James Rodríguez has signed a 6-year contract with Spanish team supergiant Real Madrid.

According to The Guardian the former AS Monaco player was signed for a transfer fee of 63 million pounds, or just under $108 million. The transfer fee sets a record for the fourth largest transfer fee, including new teammates Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo. The 23-year-old break out star will wear the iconic number 10 jersey, last worn by German star Mesut Özil, who is now with English club Arsenal.

Rodríguez joins a long list of soccer titans on Real Madrid including Cristiano Ronaldo, and most recent signing, Toni Kroos, another break-out star on the German World Cup team. Kroos and Rodríguez are set to be a super-duo in the midfield for Real Madrid.

Rodríguez passed his physical on Tuesday morning, July 22, and is set to start training with the team on August 1.
