The New York Yankees completed a three game sweep against the Cincinnati Reds on a walk-off single in the ninth inning. The final score was Yanks 3 and the Reds 2.

Yankees catcher Brian McCan hit a blooper in the bottom of the ninth inning to score Jacoby Ellsbury from third base. It was a sunny day at Yankee Stadium, so the fielders could not see the blooper McCan hit that would be a normal routine fly ball catch.

Ellsbury led the charge today for the Yankees going 4-4. Ellsbury got things going in the bottom of the ninth inning with a single, stolen base, and run scored, proven by ESPN.

The Reds came into New York having won eight out of there past 13 games, according to mlb.com. New York on the other hand was struggling to keep a .500 record.

With a third victory in a row against the Reds, the Yankees are three games over .500 with 50 wins and 47 losses. They look to continue a hot streak as they are currently in third place in the American League East.
