New York Yankees slugger Mark Teixeira will have fluid drained from his knee. Teixeira’s knee has been bothering him for the past couple of days, and it was decided for him to do this procedure. The drainage of the left knee will not make Teixeira miss any significant playing time. Team manager Joe Girardi expects him to be ready to play as soon as possible.

"We expect him to be fully fine. He's played through this and we fully expect him to be back in there tomorrow,” said Girardi, sources told ESPN.

Yankees executive Brian Cashman expects Teixeira to be in the lineup for the teams up coming road trip starting Thursday. According to ESPN, it is an 11-game road trip, and the Yankees will be playing in three different cities.

The Bronx Bombers cannot afford to have Teixeira out of the lineup again this season. He was on the disabled list in April due to a strained hamstring. Teixeira leads the ball club with 15 home runs and 41 RBI’s in just 62 games played, reported by Sports Injury Alert. His production is desperately needed in order for the struggling Yankees to have a chance at making the playoffs this year.
