With Nolan searching for Irisa, Amanda is forced to take on the badge as Deputy when the shocking murder of one of their own rocks Defiance.

Let me start off by saying that this episode was the best episode of the season thus far and is my top five in the series. When a young prostitute named Treasure Doll is murdered, Amanda becomes a deputy in the absence of Irisa and tries to solve the case. This season so far has been wacky and inconsistent to say the least. However, this episode was near perfect because of the Irisa plot.

Throughout the season Treasure Doll has been trying to come in between Christy and Alak. Alak has been sleeping around with her and Christy has become close friends with the woman. However, Treasure Doll wants to be in a rich family. That means she is willing to kill for it. The Tarrs are suspects and no one thinks otherwise but this episode spins that idea on its head by making Christy the murderer.

Christy and Treasure Doll were having lunch in the Gateway Arch when Christy could smell poison in a glass of juice. Pregnant Christy had one of the best fight scenes this season without a doubt. Treasure Doll falls out of the arch and Christy takes the murder weapon (a microphone) and plants it under Alak’s bed. This episode was the final stage in Christy transformation into becoming a “clone” of Stahma. She threatens to kill the baby if Alak does not stay loyal to her.

The meat of the episode was Irisa. At the end of episode 10, Irisa gets a terra sphere from Tommy. She uses this device to send a group of aliens underground in order to protect them from the impending rapture. Throughout the season, Irisa has been making aliens immortal from wounds. Nolan finds her camp in this episode and has a confrontation with Tommy but they decide to team up when they realized that Irisa is bringing the rapture.

They devise a plan that temporarily knocks out Irisa and the A.I controlling her. Before this, Irisa and Nolan have one of the best exchanges in the show’s two seasons. Irisa believes that Nolan is a bad man who only knows how to solve problems by killing and using violence. She wanted to be like him even though he was not the best role model and he killed many of her people as a soldier.

Irisa may or may have not killed Tommy after she escaped capture he declared his love for her. This Irisa is not the same person.
Overall, this episode was amazing. Each fight scene and exchange was exciting to watch. In the finale, Irisa will finally be unleashed and all hell will be set loose. That will be a sight to see.
