If Downton Abbey is anything, it’s meticulous. But as their newly released cast photos show, even the most attentive can occasionally slip up.
In promotion of the fifth season of Downton Abbey, set to air on PBS Jan. 4, 2015, a photo of Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) and Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) in their typical period attire has been released. But there is one huge error this time: a plastic water bottle is sitting on the mantle!
You may be wondering why that is such a huge problem. Well, besides being unsightly, the plastic water bottle hadn’t even been created in 1924, the period in which season 5 of Downton Abbey will take place, reports E! and The Huffington Post.
The photo has since been removed from the show’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, but it can still be viewed on E!.
Here’s to hoping the rest of the season doesn’t follow a similar pattern, because if it does, who knows what crazy slip-up we’ll see next! Perhaps a stray iPhone someone left lying around?
