Filming for season three of Orange Is The New Black is currently underway and Nick Sandow is opening up about his character, Officer Caputo. It has also been announced that Lori Petty will be reprising her minor role from the premiere episode of season two throughout season three.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Petty will return as a cast member in season three of OITNB as Lolly, who was introduced as the prisoner sitting next to Piper on a transfer flight.
Nick Sandow spoke to Vulture about what his character plans to do with his new position as Assistant Warden. “I don’t think he’s the kind of guy that has any plan…I think that he’s got a sense of wanting to do the right thing. And in this structure, I don’t know if there’s room for that. The whole prison structure is built on a fault. There’s no right way to do it just because the foundation is so faulty.” Sandow maintains that facing the additional responsibilities in his new position of power will be Caputo’s primary struggle in season three.
While the third season does not yet have an official premiere date, it will most likely hit Netflix in June 2015.
