Friday Night Lights actress Adrianne Palicki has been cast to play Agent Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, in the upcoming season of ABC series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Palicki will make her debut as the popular spy character in the fifth episode. For now, she is only guest starring in one episode, but could return for more, according to The Hollywood Reporter, who first learned of the casting.

Fans who attended Comic-Con in July won't be too surprised that Mockingbird will make an appearance. During the S.H.I.E.L.D. panel, Patton Oswalt's Agent Koenig addressed the audience and then is interrupted by his twin brother with a message that Agent Morse had called in asking to speak with Director Coulson.

The upcoming sophomore season of the ABC series has been filling up with guest stars, including Lucy Lawless, who will play Isabelle Hartly. Kyle MacLachlan will appear as Skye's father, while Reed Diamond is Daniel Whitehall/Kraken.

Simon Kassianides is also on board to play Bakshi, Henry Simmons is Alphonso "Mac" Mackenzie and Nick Blood is a mercenary. Colbie Smulders will also reprise her role as Agent Maria Hill.
