Anna Paquin appeared on Larry King’s online show this weekend, where King showed a curious interest in the True Blood star’s bisexuality. The Oscar winner had to explain that this isn’t a “past-tense thing” for her, even if she is in a happy marriage with her husband, Stephen Moyer.
During the Larry King Now interview, the former CNN host asked Paquin if she was a “non-practicing bisexual.” “Well, I am married to my husband [Stephen Moyer], and we are happily monogamously married,” Paquin replied.
But King kept pressing, asking, “But you were bisexual?”
“Well, I don't think it's a past tense thing,” she replied and asked King if you are still considered straight if you are with someone, notes E! News. “If you were to break up with them or if they were to die, it doesn't prevent your sexuality from existing. It doesn't really work like that.”
King, of course, has had his fair share of marriages. Rather than keep the conversation going, he changed the subject and said, “Stop with wishful thinking.”
Paquin announced that she is bisexual in a PSA back in 2010 and has not been shy about the topic since. In fact, last month, she talked about it with the Huffington Post, noting that it’s important for society to accept the LGBT community.
True Blood is in its final season and airs on HBO.
