Anne Hathaway joins Instagram to do Ice Bucket Challenge

Oscar winning actress Anne Hathaway has joined Instagram for one reason and one reason only: to do the ALS Ice Bucket challenge.

TheCelebrity Café.com recently reported on all of the celebrities participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, so it is no surprise Anne Hathaway decided to join in on raising awareness for the awful disease.

Hathaway posted her challenge on her new Instagram in two videos, nominating Jessica Chastain, Matthew McConaughey, and Joan Rivers to do the challenge next.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is a simple idea that has been all over social media. If challenged, participants must either pay $100 to the ALS Association of dump a bucket of ice water on their head.

ALS is a degenerative disease that attacks a person’s nerves in the brain and spine, according to the ALS Association.

Another name for the disease is Lou Gehrig’s disease, after the famous Major League Baseball player who had it.

So far, the challenge has raised $53 million, according to ALS.org.
