Boston; it is full of history, art, culture and where myself and my family had the most wonderful 4 days this summer vacation. A mere 3 hours from home and we were in the heart of Boston's bustling city on a beautiful afternoon, checking into the Omni Parker House. Since 1855, The Omni Parker House has been symbolic to Boston’s history and charm. It is the longest continuously running luxury hotel in America. Founder Harvey D. Parker ran the hotel until his death in 1884; at that point his partners took over. Famous points of interest include Charles Dickens living there for a few months (performing A Christmas Carol there), and JFK announcing his candidacy for Congress and holding his bachelor party there (For these reasons you may choose to stay in the JFK Suite). This luxury accommodation is located in the heart of Boston and along the Freedom Trail, Boston Common, Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. As a tourist you may walk within minutes to so many of the attractions this wonderful city has to offer. The Omni Parker House is rich in Old World Charm, the décor is simply beautiful and the rooms both inviting and spacious. You will for certain feel pampered and refreshed in just one night. As the birthplace of both the Boston Cream Pie and the Parker House Rolls, you will enjoy every ounce of food the Omni Parker House has to offer. I can state from experience, you simply cannot leave this hotel without sampling that pie. The staff is both welcoming and extremely helpful whether it be with assisting you with baggage, your car or providing you with pretty much any amenity you may need along the way. My children adored the welcome backpacks they provided them with at check in (when you have been in the car for 4 hours crayons, activity books and a deck of cards go a long way!) My personal favorite touch was their nightly turn down service where they left my children cookies and milk. The Omni Parker House is located at 60 School Street (corner of Tremont and School).
