The late Brittany Murphy is the subject of a new Lifetime biopic, The Brittany Murphy Story, the network announced on Wednesday.

Set to play Murphy is actress Amanda Fuller, of Last Man Standing and Grey's Anatomy, and Sherilyn Fenn of Twin Peaks and Ray Donovan will portray Brittany's mother, Sharon Murphy.

The film will begin with Brittany's earlier life, showing how her mother was her main support system and how she played a role in getting her daughter's talents noticed in the 80's and 90's. It will also lead up to the star's death and the aftermath, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

THR also reports that Lifetime has not discussed their sources for the script, but a spokesperson for Sharon Murphy stated that she has not been been consulted for the film, nor worked with production in any way.

Brittany Murphy died Sept. 20, 2009 at age 32, allegedly due to pneumonia. Her husband Simon Monjack passed away the same way five months later. Although, Murphy's father Angelo Bartolotti later alleged that she was poisoned when he claimed Barium, a rat poison, was found in her hair.

Brittany Murphy started out on television, before breaking out onto the film scene. She starred in Clueless, Girl Interrupted and 8 Mile.
