CBS Sports announced on Tuesday that the network is launching an all-female national sports show called We Need To Talk.
The show, which will premiere on CBS Sports Network at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30, will be hosted, directed and produced by an all-female team.
"This is a very proud moment for all of us at CBS sports," Sean McManus, CBS Sports chairman, said. "A sports show featuring all women is long overdue, and we are thrilled to be able to make television history this fall with the national launch of We Need To Talk."
The show will boast a panel of rotating CBS Sports announcers who will sit down each week to talk about a variety of sports, and will feature such names as Lesley Visser, Amy Trask, Tracy Wolfson, Dana Jacobson, Allie LaForce, Andrea Kremer, Laila Ali, Dara Torres (right) and others.
There also will be numerous guests from the sports world, which will include women and men, with Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell already slated to appear.
"This is nothing less than a cultural pivot point," Visser, Pro Football Hall of Fame sportscaster, said. "There are many shows [that] have a woman on, but not one that has a table filled with women."
Behind the camera, Emilie Deutsch, Suzanne Smith, Amy Salmanson and July Keryc will lead the show. Smith, who produces and directs NFL games, will helm We Need To Talk.
