Actors Kristen Wiig and Ty Burrell and chef Giada De Laurentiis are celebrating their birthdays today.

Kristen Wiig, 41

Actress, director, screenwriter, comedian and producer Kristen Wiig turns 41 today. After relocating to Los Angeles, Wiig broke into comedy as a member of the improvisational comedy troupe The Groundlings, and made her television debut in 2003. In 2005, Wiig joined the cast of Saturday Night Live and the following year, she co-starred in the Christmas comedy film Unaccompanied Minors. She went on to appear in a series of supporting roles in comedy films such as Knocked Up, Adventureland, Whip It! and Paul.

Wiig co-starred in and wrote the screenplay for Bridesmaids, which was both critically and commercially successful.

Wiig received six consecutive Emmy Awards nominations and has been nominated for an Annie Award for Voice Acting in a Feature Production for her work on Despicable Me 2. In 2012, Bridesmaids earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Musical or Comedy, as well as nominations for the Academy Award and BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay and a SAG Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast.

Wiig most recently starred in The Spoils of Babylon, an IFC miniseries. That role currently has Wiig nominated for an Emmy in the category for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie.

Ty Burrell, 47

Movie, television and theater actor Ty Burrell turns 47 today. Some of Burrell's earlier work includes appearances in the movies Black Hawk Down, the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead, and appearances in several stage performances including Macbeth, Corners, The Blue Demon, Burn This and Show People. He has also made an appearance as a probation officer in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Burrell was cast as Oliver Barnes on the CBS sitcom Out of Practice. The show was canceled with eight episodes remaining unaired. After the show's cancellation, he played Allan Arbus in the film Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus. Burrell had a small role in the film National Treasure: Book of Secrets in 2007.

Burrell currently plays real estate agent Phil Dunphy in the critically acclaimed ABC comedy Modern Family. He has received four Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, winning the award in 2011. He also received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his role, sharing the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series with his co-stars. He was the recipient of the individual SAG award in 2014.

Burrell is married and has two adopted daughters.

Giada De Laurentiis, 44

Chef ad television personality Giada De Laurentiis turns 44 today. De Laurentiis studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, with aspirations of becoming a pastry chef. After returning to the United States, she became a professional chef working in several Los Angeles restaurants. She later worked as a food stylist and was contacted by the Food Network after styling a piece in Food & Wine Magazine in 2002.

De Laurentiis' Emmy Award-winning daytime cooking show, Everyday Italian, featured quick, healthy and satisfying Italian dishes.

In January 2007, a third De Laurentiis-hosted show, Giada's Weekend Getaways, debuted on Food Network. On this show, De Laurentiis travels and visits her favorite local culinary destinations. On a November 2006 episode of Iron Chef America, De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay competed against, and were defeated by Rachael Ray and Mario Batali. De Laurentiis also made several appearances as a guest judge on the third season of The Next Food Network Star. In 2008, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lifestyle Host.

In 2008, Giada at Home premiered, showing Giada in a kitchen preparing meals and parties for family and friends. Giada joined fellow chef Bobby Flay as a judge in season 7 of Food Network Star, and took on a new role in season 8 as a team leader of five cooks.

In July 2014, Giada opened her first restaurant, called GIADA, inside the Cromwell in Las Vegas, Nevada. The GIADA menu includes Italian cuisine with Californian influences, family-style, vegan, and gluten-free options, as well as an antipasto station. Restaurant guests can watch chefs prepare food from the open kitchen.

De Laurentiis is married to fashion designer, Todd Thompson, and has a daughter named Jade.
