Charlie Strong has brought his no nonsense attitude to the University of Texas and his players are becoming quite aware of it. Strong confirmed the dismissal of five players from the team, and the suspension of three players for violation of team rules.
Wide receiver Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander, who were charged with felony sexual assault of the second degree stemming from an incident in late June, have been dismissed from the team. They two former Longhorns face up to 20 years in prison and bail has been set at $75,000 for each.
Charlie Strong also clarifies that Sanders and Meander will not be allowed back. It doesn't matter how the court case winds up.

"It's been made clear to everyone on our team that treating women with respect is one of our core values, and I'm extremely disappointed that two young men in our program have been accused of not doing that,” Strong said.
Running backs Jalen Overstreet, Joe Bergeron and defensive back Chevoski Collins have also been dismissed from the team.
Offensive lineman Desmond Harrison, wide receiver Daje Johnson and safety Josh Turner have also been suspended indefinitely.
