Chris Brown has vowed to be completely cooperative with police in the investigation into the shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at an unofficial MTV Video Music Awards he was hosting. Three people were shot, including music mogul Suge Knight.

As we previously reported, the shooting happened at 1OAK at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The party already got off to a rough start since The Game and his team reportedly had an altercation with security. The shooting happened towards the end of the event.

Police are reportedly considering this a gang-related event, since The Game, Knight and Brown have all had ties to the Bloods.

In a statement to the New York Daily News, Brown’s rep said that the singer has been completely cooperative with police, even though he was not involved in the shooting. Brown was nominated for a VMA and did attend the show last night.

“Chris hosted an event in Los Angeles last night to celebrate the upcoming release of his album X, during which an incident occurred. This incident did not involve Chris; he was merely the host of the event,” the rep stated. “(Chris) has and will continue to cooperate with the investigation.”

Brown is still on probation for the 2009 assault of Rihanna. He sent the following tweet after the incident.

As for Knight, he was shot six times, according to TMZ reports, and underwent surgery.
