Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeVonte Holloman's career seems to be over before it even started as he has been advised to retire.

Doctors have told the one-year player that he should retire as he continues to be bothered by a neck issue after losing out on most of his rookie season due to a bruised spinal cord, ESPN reports. He's received two opinions suggesting calling it quits now, but plans to seek out one more just in case.

"I don't want to get into anything medical about it," head coach Jason Garrett said as he revealed that the LB had been bothered by his neck. "I don't know that much about it, and there's a lot of very specific things regarding that. But it has to do with his neck and he had that injury last year and he dealt with it again this year."

According to DallasCowboys.com, Garrett noted that doctors advised him to retire and "it doesn't look like he's going to be able to play football anymore."

The loss of Holloman further hurts a linebacker corp already struggling to deal with the loss of starter Sean Lee.
