Emma Watson joined thousands of women in protest against Turkish Prime Minister Bulent Arinc. In a speech during Ramadan, Arinc made a comment surrounding behaviors he considers inappropriate for women in public. Arinc stated, “A woman should be chaste. She should know the difference between public and private. She should not laugh in public.” A comment that has infuriated women across the world, including recently named Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women, Emma Watson. Watson shared a photo of herself on both Twitter and Instagram laughing in public.
Drew Barrymore has announced her latest project, a perfume line for her Flowers cosmetics line. The perfume line will consist of three scents, Sultry, Cherished and Radiant. Each scent is meant to tell a story of a woman who is multi-faceted and carries a special meaning to Barrymore. Each perfume will be available in 30 ml. bottles for $24.98 and 15 ml. bottles for $19.98. A rollerball will be available for $9.98.
Morgan Geyser, the 12-year-old girl involved in the Slender Man stabbing in Wisconsin last month has made claims that Voldemort ordered her to stab her friend in the woods. During her trial Friday, Geyser was fidgeting in her seat and playing with her hair. When asked by the judge if she was able to assist her attorneys, Geyser shrugged and was then committed for treatment. In June, a bicyclist found a 12-year old girl stabbed several times in the woods. The 12-year-old survived and is currently recovering.
An American patient who contracted the Ebola Virus will be treated at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. The patient will be placed in a separate containment facility designed for patients with serious infectious diseases. Dr. Sujatha Reddy, a medical consultant, assures patients of the hospital and others concerned in Atlanta that it is unnecessary to worry as the facility is separate from the main hospital and even has a separate staff.
