Derek Hough may be known as a dancer and choreographer on the hit series Dancing with the Stars, but his latest projects prove that there is more to him than just quick feet.
After the departure of fellow DWTS alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy last week, Hough was asked what his future on the show looked like.
"I don't know. We have a new executive producer. I know they want to do a bunch of different things. I'm in that place again where it's all about progress. What's the next thing," Hough said to USA Today.
While this doesn't necessarily mean Hough is saying goodbye to the show (something he himself pointed out), Derek Hough has been involved in some other projects that show him off the stage. Hough along with fellow DWTS dancer Mark Ballas are starring in a four episode HGTV series titled Mark & Derek's Excellent Flip which details how they renovate and resell a recently purchased Southern California home. The show is slated to air next year.
Hough is also showing his skills as a writer. His book Taking the Lead: Lessons from a Life in Motion will be released Tuesday.
Dancing With the Starss' 19th season will premiere at 8 p.m. EST on Sept. 15 on ABC.
