Dancing With the Stars veteran Derek Hough has been tapped to appear in the upcoming third season of Nashville.

Hough will play the role of Noah West, who is a movie star cast in the county music drama to play a famous country music singer in a film, Deadline reports. During the multi-episode arc, he will run into Nashville's stars.

This will be the first major acting role for Hough, who has won an Emmy Award for choreography during his time on ABC's DWtS, according to TheWrap.

He also has guest starred on a third ABC series, called Better With You, though it was only for one episode. In addition to dancing, Hough has also gone through training as a singer.

Nashville will premiere on Sept. 24 and Variety notes, Hough's episodes will likely air in October. He will also be returning for the 19th season of the popular dancing competition DWtS, which begins a week earlier on Sept. 15.
