A contestant that appeared on VH1’s Dating Naked has sued the network over allegedly failing to blur out her private part during a playful wrestling session with her date on the beach.
Jessie Nizewitz, 28, a model, has filed a lawsuit against Viacom and two production companies for $10 million.
Nizewitz claims her crotch was not blurred out all the way in one scene, causing her “emotional distress, mental anguish, humiliation and embarrassment” after the images were redistributed throughout social media sites.
I have no problem going to a beach in a bikini or people seeing me on TV in a bikini,” she told Entertainment Weekly through her lawyer, Matthew J. Blit.
“Although I went on this show knowing that I would be nude while taping it I was told that my private parts would be blurred for TV,” she continued. “If you watch an episode, you will see that the blur actually makes it less revealing than a bikini would. Obviously, I did not expect the world to see my private parts, this is not what I anticipated or what any other contestants on the show anticipated.”
In an interview with the New York Post, Nizewitz said her family members are angry with her and she’s received other backlash, such as friends and acquaintances text messaging her about being shown nude on television. She even said a man she was dating never called her again after the show aired.
“I felt lied to, manipulated and used. I was horrified,” she said. “I think they owe me a huge apology.”
