More than three years after Duchess Kate married Prince William, the designer of her famous Alexander McQueen gown, Sarah Burton, is finally speaking out about her experience.

Burton, who is the creative director for Alexander McQueen spoke with the New York Times’ T Magazine, and shared her experience working with Kate Middleton as well as the reason why she stayed quiet about the experience for so long. Burton told the mag that she was happy with the experience, gushing about her chance to design the famous gown. According to Yahoo! Burton told T Magazine, "I loved making the dress, I loved adapting my ideas to suit the person and the occasion, and we put our hearts into it.”
Burton also mentioned that she stayed away from doing interviews after the royal wedding because she chooses to stay out of the public eye, living her life and career privately, saying that she never felt any pressure to keep quiet from the royal family. Burton says, “I'm not interested in going to parties. I hate having my picture taken.” E! News reports.
Since Duchess Kate revealed her designer wedding gown, Burton and her designs have been in hot demand. There were even rumors swirling that Kim Kardashian reached out to Burton to design her dress for the big day.
