Spanish goalkeeper Diego López has agreed to terms to move from Real Madrid to AC Milan.

According to Goal.com, the moves comes just days after López told directors at Real Madrid that he felt he was the best keeper on the club. López had played for Real earlier in his career, but returned in 2013 when their first team keeper and captain, Iker Casillas, suffered a hand injury. Casillas played very poorly for Spain during the World Cup, and that may have played a part in López boldly claiming that he was better than Casillas, who is considered one of the greatest keepers of all-time. With López making it clear that he wanted to be the team's first choice, and Real wanting to remain loyal to Casillas, it was inevitable that he would be moved elsewhere.

According to Marca.com it is a four-year deal and López will undergo a physical with the team on Monday. López will earn about €2.5million per season with AC Milan, who recently made our list of the Top 10 European club soccer teams of the last 10 years.

López will try to help Milan improve from their eighth place finish in Serie A a year ago, which is well below their usual standards. Real Madrid will need to find a new reliable backup for Casillas, who is now 33, and looks like his best days are behind him.
