Actor and rapper Donald Glover finally gets a chance to voice Spider-Man in Disney’s new animated series Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors.

Back before Andrew Garfield was known for anything other than being Mark Zuckerberg’s former best friend in The Social Network, there was a huge Twitter campaign for Glover, who is a Spider-Man fan, to play the webbed superhero in the then-upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie as reported by E! Online. Though the former Community actor did not get the role, this campaign inspired comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis to base the new Spider-man on Glover in the Ultimate Spider-Manseries, creating a character named Miles Morales.

A character, that will be voiced by Glover in Disney’s show. In the Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors’ story, Peter Parker is traveling through dimensions in order to protect the various versions of Spider-Man from their enemy the Green Goblin according to USA Today.

Speaking of Miles’ reaction to meeting Peter Parker, Marvel Television animation division vice president Stephen Wacker stated according to USA Today that, “He meets someone who is his hero, and that comes across completely in Donald's performance. He's got a real warmth that suits the character really, really well.”
