After a night out drinking and listening to others talk about potential Super Bowl halftime performers, one fan decided he really wanted Weird Al Yankovic to be the performer and headed to Change.org to start a petition.

According to The Washington Post, Ed Ball overheard Seattle Seahawks fans discuss another potential Super Bowl appearance, when the topic eventually became about who should perform during halftime. Some suggestions tossed out were Justin Bieber and Iggy Azalea.

After listening to that, the 33-year-old Dallas Cowboys fan went home and started a Change.org petition. Then he went to Reddit and posted the link.

Turns out Ball isn't alone in his wish to hear Weird Al perform during halftime as more than 23,000 people have signed the petition, probably a mix of serious fans and those doing so as a joke.

After the petition passed 20,000, Ball made a post noting that while he did make it while drunk, he would still love seeing Weird Al play, "even if I was sober."

Back in July, Weird Al released his latest, and possibly last, album Mandatory Fun, which did extremely well and managed to snag the top spot of the Billboard 200 chart. The album sold 104,000 copies in its first week, giving him his highest spot ever.
