As if the ridiculous amount of commercials during NFL games were not bad enough, there will now be advertising on the playing field itself.

Business Insider, published an article saying how Toyota has become the "exclusive auto partner" of the San Francisco 49ers, and what that means for fans tuning into watch games. Toyota sponsors the Niners red zone, which means "TOYOTA RED ZONE" appears in big red letters on television screens whenever a team is within 20 yards of the end zone. We got our first glimpse of it when the 49ers took on the Baltimore Ravens in a preseason game on Thursday night, a rematch of the 2013 Super Bowl.
USA Today believes that every team will eventually follow the Niners path, as the added advertisement will likely bring in millions.

The eye-sore of an advertisement will only appear during preseason games for KPIX, the local broadcast, and not on national television. Still, this could be a sign for things to come. Most club soccer teams have their sponsors written across the font of their jerseys, and just about everything in sports has its sponsors name in front of it-- The Nokia Sugar Bowl, the Barclays Premier League, etc.

It is likely just a matter of time before advertising on football fields, and eventually on the jerseys of teams becomes the norm. While it can be distracting, it is doubtful that any viewers will actually not watch games because of increased advertisement, so it will just keep increasing. Fans will just have to put up with it.
