Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton has announced she is quitting her job as NBC News' Special Correspondent.

Clinton, who is the daughter of former US President, Bill Clinton, and former US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, was originally hired to do journalism work for Brian Williams’ Rock Center on NBC but has instead been appearing on Nightly News for the past three years, says ABC News.

E! News reports Clinton wrote in a Facebook post that she feels the need to step down because she wants “to continue focusing on my work at the Clinton Foundation and as Marc [Mezvinsky] and I look forward to welcoming our first child.”

Alex Wallace, a senior vice president of NBC News, admitted “Chelsea’s storytelling inspired people across the country and showcased the real power we have as individuals to make a difference in our communities."

Wallace added that although they will miss Clinton, they “look forward to working with her in the future” on other projects.

Clinton also thanked the NBC team and discussed how much of an honor it was to be apart of the NBC family.
