Fox has decided against picking up new series Cabot College from Tina Fey, leaving its future quite murky.
It had been tapped back in May as one series with a good chance of being picked up, as Fox canceled several series and looked at series the network had in development.
It would likely have been picked up and given a six-episode commitment, but chairman Kevin Reilly's departure not long after that likely hurt Cabot College's chance, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The comedy would have starred Margaret Cho, Fortune Feimster and Bonnie Dennison and centered at a women's college that has decided to begin allowing men to apply for the first time. Fellow 30 Rock alums David Miner, Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock were set to join Fey as executive producers for the series.
Though one series from Fey is dead in the water, she does have a midseason series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt set over at NBC. It will star Ellie Kemper.
There has been no word on what direction Fox will opt to take with fellow front-runner series Sober Companion, which would star Nick Frost and Justin Long.
