The Golden State Warriors and guard Leandro Barbosa have agreed to a one-year deal.
According to Sports Illustrated, Barbosa will receive the veteran’s minimum of $1,448,490 for the year.
Last season, Barbosa played for the Phoenix Suns and appeared in 20 games. He averaged 7.5 points per game and 1.6 assists per game, according to ESPN.
Barbosa was also in contact with the Miami Heat, who was in need of a guard. Instead of Barbosa they signed Shannon Brown.
Barbosa will join Steve Kerr, his general manager from the Suns from 2007-2010, who is the Warriors new head coach, according to CBS Sports.
Barbosa was a first round pick by the San Antonio Spurs in 2003. He was traded to the Suns shortly after the draft. He played for the Suns from the 2003-2004 season to the 2009-2010 season. He then played for the Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics, according to ESPN Stats.
His best season was the 2006-2007 season when he averaged 18.1 ppg and 4.0 apg.
