The Green Bay Packers could lose defensive tackle BJ Raji for an extended period of time after he allegedly tore his right bicep during a preseason game Friday night against the Oakland Raiders.
Raji will undergo test to determine whether or not his bicep is completely or just partially torn. If it is completely torn he could miss the entire season, according to NFL.com.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters after the game that Raji had an initial exam after the game and he is pretty confident that it is a torn bicep, but they will do more tests, according to ESPN.
A small tear could let Raji return a little before the midway point of the NFL season. Raji could also go the route of Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, who played with a torn bicep for the entire 2012 season.
Raji resigned with the Packers this season with a one-year, $4 million salary after he became a free agent. He has played his entire career in Green Bay after being drafted by them ninth overall in 2009.
