Hulu has picked up The Awesomes for a third season, guaranteeing that Seth Meyers and his crew of former and current Saturday Night Live friends will have something to do when they get bored.
The online streaming company made the announcement on its blog today. This means that next summer will also feature new episodes of the quirky superhero show every Monday.
The Awesomes is currently in its second season and debuted last summer.
“When we first premiered season one of The Awesomes two years ago, we knew it was going to be a big success for Hulu,” Hulu’s Beatrice Springborn said in a statement. “With a growing fan base from season to season and a cast featuring some of the funniest people on television, it was a natural decision for us to renew the show for a third season.”
The show features the Late Night host as Proc, the leader of the titular group of heroes, who are mostly incompetent. Meyers recruited a bunch of his SNL friends to voice many of the characters and even his former Weekend Update co-anchor Amy Poehler is in on the action this summer.
Other familiar voices heard in the show include Rashida Jones, Taran Killam, Bill Hader, Kenan Thompson, Cecily Strong, Bobby Moynihan and Bobby Lee.
