Kaitlin Olson, who stars in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, is set for a recurring role on the upcoming season of Fox's New Girl.

Rob Reiner will also be returning to reprise his role as Zooey Deschanel's Jess' father, according to The Hollywood Reporter. When his character he returns, he does so with a fiancee, Ashley, played by Olson.

Ashley, who will make her appearance alongside Jess' father, will debut in the third episode of the fourth season. It turns out that she is Hannah Simone's Cece and Jess' nemesis from high school.

Reiner has appeared on the show from time to time since the second season, but Olson will join other new faces guest starring this upcoming season, including Jessica Biel and Reid Scott.

Earlier Tuesday, it was reported that both MTV and TBS snagged the basic cable rights to New Girl. The two networks signed a five-year deal to air the show, starting in fall 2015 during the week.

Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris, Max Greenfield and Damon Wayans Jr. also star in the series with Simone and Deschanel.
