Bethesda Softworks officially confirmed the voice cast for the upcoming survival horror game The Evil Within, featuring Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Carpenter and Anson Mount.

The Evil Within, directed under Shinji Mikami, follows Detective Sebastian Castellanos who, along with his partners, investigate a mass murder. He is captured after witnessing those with him get violently murdered in an ambush and wakes up to find himself nightmarish world where he must try and fight to survive while unraveling a mystery.

Haley (The Watchmen) has been tapped to voice the villain, Ruvik, while Hell on Wheels star Mount will play the main character Castellanos. Dexter alum Carpenter was cast to play Castellanos' Junior Detective partner Juli Kidman.

While the player will control Castellanos during the main game, there will be future content where Kidman will be a playable character.

"One of the most crucial elements to any successful survival horror game is the setting and sound, which includes the depth and authenticity of the voice acting," Mikami said. "We brought together a great cast of experienced actors to help ensure that players really believe our characters' emotions and the tension they feel in every scene."
