Joan Rivers has been rushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing during throat surgery in New York on Thursday, Aug. 28.
The Fashion Police star, 81, was undergoing a procedure on her throat to fix her vocal chords in a clinic when she reportedly stopped breathing. They then rushed her to Mount Sinai hospital in New York City.
According to TMZ, the 911 caller told the dispatcher, "We have somebody in either cardiac or respiratory arrest."
Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers, whom she has worked with for years, was on her way to New York from California as of Thursday morning to be by her mother’s side.
Rivers just did a 90-minute special Emmys and MTV Video Music Awards episode of E!’s Fashion Police on Tuesday, with special guest “Bang Bang” singer, Jessie J, on Tuesday.
She tweeted, “An all new #FashionPolice TONIGHT at 8/7c. Our 90 minute special takes on both the #Emmys and #VMAs. Don’t miss it!”
