Gene Simmons is really raising eyebrows with his latest comments on suicide, especially after an earth-shattering week that saw Robin Williams taking his own life due to a long battle with depression and anxiety.

The KISS rocker clearly has no sympathy for those battling depression, comparing it to his mother surviving the Holocaust and being a happy person despite living through it.

"Drug addicts and alcoholics are always, 'The world is a harsh place.' My mother was in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany. I don't want to hear f**k all about ‘the world as a harsh place,’” he told SongFacts.com.

“She gets up every day, smells the roses and loves life. And for a putz, 20-year-old kid to say, 'I'm depressed, I live in Seattle.' F**k you, then kill yourself,” he said.

Simmons had much more to say, continuing “I never understand, because I always call them on their bluff. I'm the guy who says 'Jump!' when there's a guy on top of a building who says, 'That's it, I can't take it anymore, I'm going to jump.’ Are you kidding? Why are you announcing it? Shut the f**k up, have some dignity and jump! You've got the crowd."

Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx is now responding to his harsh words, having struggled with depression himself and condemning him for encouraging young KISS fans who might be depressed to end their lives.

He told listeners on his radio show Sixx Sense that for those who are depressed “there is a way out.”

He also took to Twitter to write, “I struggled with addiction and depression but found recovery.Would you be happy if I killed myself instead? Also my 4 kids wouldnt been born. I wonder if @genesimmons would still say how depressed people or addicts should kill themselves if it happend to his wife or kids?”
