Craig Ferguson, the current host of The Late Late Show is reportedly in talks to land a new talk show.
According to sources who spoke with The Hollywood Reporter, the deal is nearly finalized and would have the Scottish comedian head to Tribune-owned stations. The talk show would be syndicated and not late at night.
Instead the new talk show, which would be able to continue to tape in the CBS Television City lot, would air around 7 p.m. The Tribune Broadcasting show would be very similar to Ferguson's current format.
Ferguson announced he would be leaving The Late Late Show in December shortly after it was revealed that Stephen Colbert got the Late Show gig.
He will step down from the show after nearly a decade as host, but will not completely end a working relationship with CBS as Ferguson will host the syndicated game show Celebrity Name Game.
Though CBS hasn't made a formal announcement, it is assumed that James Corden, who will be in the upcoming Disney film Into the Woods, has been selected to replace Ferguson.
