Redfoo, half of the electropop duo LMFAO, was left with a minor injury to his face after glass was thrown at him in a Sydney bar early Thursday morning, Australian police said.

The incident was apparently unprovoked. According to Reuters, Redfoo told local media a man “looked at me and taunted me and winked his eye, just to say ‘I got you’ or something.” Billboard also told police that he had never met the man before.

Redfoo, who is currently a judge on the Australian edition of The X Factor, gave the Daily Telegraph an extensive report on the incident, which he called a “crazy occurrence.”

The DJ and his friends were just hanging out when, “All of a sudden out of nowhere a glass hits me in the head and I look over to see who might have thrown it and I see kind of a dodgy fella trying to flee the scene,” he explained.

He tried to chase the 21-year-old, but security apprehended him. The unidentified suspect will face a charge of malicious wounding.

Redfoo’s real name is Stefan Kendal Gordy and is the youngest son of Motown founder Berry Gordy. He and nephew Skyler Austen Gordy made up LMFAO and had international hits with “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy And I Know It.” He remains popular in Australia and will be one of the headliners of iHeartRadio Australia Music Festival with Miley Cyrus.
