Lord of the Rings alum Miranda Otto is the latest face to join the constantly expanding cast of HBO's Westworld.
In the series based off Michal Crichton's 1973 film of the same name, Otto has been cast to play the head of the Quality Assurance department, Virginia Pittman, Deadline reports. She is honest and quite ruthless, having no problem dispatching "property" in Westworld that fails to work correctly.
Otto mostly co-starred in Fox's completely crashing failure of a series Rake as well as will be in the upcoming film The Horseman.
The cast for Westworld continues to grow and must be close to complete by now. There are many big names set for the pilot episode, including the recently cast Thandie Newton, who is playing the attractive Maeve Millay, who has seen it all before and is adept at reading people.
The drama is set to be toplined by Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden. Others appearing include Jeffrey Wright, Shannon Woodward, Rodrigo Santoro, Steven Ogg and many, many others.
J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, Bryan Burk, Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan are on board to executive produce Westworld, with Nolan and Joy having co-written the script.
Athena Wickham and Kathy Lingg are co-executive producing, with Susie Ekins co-producing. David Coatsworth will co-exec produce and line produce.
HBO plans to begin production on the pilot later in August.
