Italian forward Mario Balotelli will be returning to the Premier League as AC Milan has accepted Liverpool's £16 million offer for him. Liverpool had been trying to bring in a proven forward after Luis Suarez left Anfield to join Barcelona, Telegraph.

Balotelli, who turned 24 last week, is a powerfully built forward that is a handful for any defense to handle, and should put Liverpool in the conversation for the early favorites to win the Premier League. Before the signing, the Premier League title was expected by most to go to either Chelsea or Manchester City. Nothing would please Balotelli more more than dethroning City as champions, as they were the team that sold him to AC Milan back in 2013. Liverpool finished second in the league last year, but after losing Suarez had not been seen as a real threat to win it this season.

DailyMail notes that like Suarez, Balotelli has a history of suspensions and controversy. Though he may end up in the media for the wrong reasons, there is no denying Super Mario's ability as a player. Balotelli scored an impressive 30 goals in the 54 games he played with AC Milan. Balotelli was also Italy's first choice forward during this summer's World Cup, scoring the game winner in a 2-1 victory over England, who featured several players who he will now be teammates with.

The stage is set for Balotelli to make a grand reentry into the Premier League, as Liverpool's next game is on Monday, against his former team and reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City.
