Comedian Marlon Wayans is being sued by actor Pierre Daniel, who worked on Wayans’ A Haunted House 2, for racial discrimination.
The lawsuit centers around a joke the funnyman tweeted last Sept., which compared Daniel to the character Cleveland Brown from the popular show Family Guy. Under the photo Wayans’ used graphic language to compare Daniel to the character, something that didn’t sit well for Daniel. According to BET Daniel felt that the joke was racially motivated and that Wayans was making fun of his appearance.
Daniel filed the lawsuit on Monday and claims that he suffered from offensive language about his race regularly and that he was fired from A Haunted House 2 after complaining.
In addition to suing the comedian for racial discrimination for the tweet, Daniel is also making other claims about the photo. According toThe Hollywood Reporter, Daniel is claiming misappropriation of name and likeness since Wayans posted the photo of him without his permission, invasion of privacy of false light, which stems from the argument that Wayans inferred that Daniel had the same traits as Cleveland Brown and breach of quasi contract, in which Daniel believed that he would be compensated for the photos’ use.
In addition to these claims, Daniel also noted that as a result of this ordeal he can no longer work as an actor. No word yet on how much Daniel is suing the comedian for.
