WNBA star Brittney Griner announced on Friday she is engaged to fellow basketball player Glory Johnson.
Griner, who plays for the Phoenix Mercury posted a picture of her holding up a ring before Johnson on Instagram. "Last Night was a Night to Remember," Griner wrote.
"I became the happiest person on this earth! (almost pass out but when that one word came out I came back to life) Me and my baby @missvol25 are in it for Life!"
The Tulsa Shock player followed up with a picture of her own through Instagram with a ring on Griner's shoulder as she rests. "What I get to wake up to," Johnson captioned the photo.
Griner revealed she was gay ahead after closing out her career at Baylor. The Los Angeles Times reports neither Griner nor Johnson have said how soon they plan on tying the knot or where, since neither player currently lives in a state where gay marriage is legal.
The 6-foot-8 Griner, who is in her second season with the Mercury is currently averaging 15.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.9 blocks, while third-year player Johnson is averaging 15 points and 9.5 rebounds.
