The Superbad star Michael Cera not only brings us hardy laughs, but is now contributing to the art of music after releasing a surprise album Tuesday night (Aug. 12).

The 18-track album is titled True That, and features a blend of instrumental compositions and a dab of Cera's pipes on vocals, CNN reports. The comedic actor has had plenty experience in the musical realm, having sung backup vocals for band Weezer and played some tunes with rock band Mister Heavenly.

The Canada native is best know for his memorable roles in Superbad, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, Juno and series Arrested Development.

True That has been receiving good reviews and was also tweeted by Cera's good friend and co-star Jonah Hill.
