More than a year after greenlighting the pilot of an adaptation of Wes Craven's Scream, MTV is ready to move forward, announcing the cast and crew.

MTV greenlit the pilot way back in April 2013 with Dimension Films involved. There also was hope that Craven would step in and direct, but that won't happen.

He will, however, executive produce alongside Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jill Blotevogel will be the showrunner and will also executive produce. Jamie Travis has been tapped to direct the pilot episode, based upon Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie's script.

Scream will star Royal Pains' Willa Fitzgerald, Amy Forsyth, Carlson Young, John Karna and newcome Amadeus Serafini.

Fitzgerald will play Emma Duvall, who finds herself part of the popular "in crowd" though it resulted her leaving her childhood friend, Audrey behind. Forsyth will play Audrey, who is a bit of a loner and a Lutheran pastor's daughter.

Young will play the popular "in crowd" leader Brooke Maddox and Karna is on board as Audrey's best friend Noah Foster, a pop culture whiz and computer genius. Serafini will play Kieran Wilcox, who is a new kid in town that is mysterious and has a dark side.
