The New York Knicks and the Sacramento Kings have agreed to a four-player trade that will send Wayne Ellington, Jeremy Tyler and a 2016 second-round pick to the Kings for Quincy Acy and Travis Outlaw.
According to ESPN, the Knicks made the trade to add depth at the forward position.
Knicks general manager Steve Mills told USA Today, that the Knicks watched Acy during the Summer League and they think he can bring energy to the team, while playing behind Carmelo Anthony.
In addition to the players, the Knicks will remove a protection from their 2016 second-round pick that they had already given to the Kings during a 2013 trade.
The Knicks had acquired Ellington earlier this season from the Dallas Mavericks during the Tyson Chandler trade.
Outlaw has a career average of 8.5 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game in his 10-year career.
Acy will be going into his third season in the NBA. He has averaged 3.1 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game for the Kings and the Toronto Raptors.
